In the late summer of 2017 I fell in love (with update!)

Hello! and welcome to my first blog post. I'm so very delighted and thrilled that you've joined me on my discovery and love for painting. #newbie #welcome

Here you will see me trying, often failing, sometimes succeeding but always striving and moving towards capturing in a 2d form the magical 3d world around us.

Here's a quick bit of background for you if you're curious about me. In the late summer of 2017, I unexpectedly developed a desire to paint, to create images, to try to capture the magic all around and within us. I took a few one or two day classes in a variety of artistic mediums and interests and fell in love! and specifically in love with painting. A very dear friend of mine had warned me this would happen, I didn't believe her and I'm glad I didn't listen. #fallinginlove

I had a fun day painting with Patrick Gamble, a wonderful man and artist, and spent a glorious week working in Port Isaac on one of Ashley Hanson's courses - a most generous man and such a talented artist. Then a few days on a course at the Newlyn School of Art with one of their tutors, Amanda Hoskins, on this course I explored the delights of creating art journals and painting outside in all weathers! #rainydays #arttutor #newlynschoolofart

UPDATE

It's now the beginning of 2022 and I've been having such a great time over these last few years exploring and playing and I encourage everyone to have a go. You don't need much equipment, although it is great to gather all the 'stuff' you can afford #artequipment You don't need to know what you are doing, you learn as you go and most artists and tutors are exceptionally caring and generous with their time and knowledge. You just need to look and to see, really see what is around you. I've learned so much and developed so much, and am not done yet. #developingartist #stillinlove

Thanks for all the follows, likes, subscribes, thank you for reading this - there are more ramblings to come. Take care, keep seeing, keep exploring and keep creating.
