The moment you, my friend, feel a connection with my art - that's what drives me.
Recently, I attended an art fair after weeks of preparation. I carefully crafted my artwork, framed it in beautiful oak frames, and packaged my smaller pieces on paper for the journey.
At the fair, I had the chance to chat with new people interested in my art and with those who were already familiar with my work. During a conversation with a young lady, she asked me, "What inspires you?" It was a simple question, but it made me realize that I had never really asked myself that before.
This question led me to a profound realization. I discovered a gap between my passion for art and my creative pursuits. I decided to take a break from my usual routine, putting aside my to-do list, phone apps, alarms, and deadlines. I delved deep into some soul-searching, seeking answers to the tough questions.
In this process, I came to understand that my motivation to create art doesn't come from financial gains, good reviews, or social media following. Instead, it's the moment when someone connects with my art that truly drives me.
This newfound clarity has given me a stronger sense of self as a creative person and a renewed determination to share my art to inspire, uplift, and add joy and colour to people's lives.
